installing 3rd party hard drives into xbox 360-360s

very soon i am going to run a series of tests on a number of laptop and desktop hard drives.
these tests will include the following steps i will be takeing to get the ball rolling.

models that i will be testing:

SEAGATE momentus 5400.2 80Gb (sata) turned to 60Gb xbox hard drive
WESTERN DIGITAL WD1600AAJS 160Gb (sata) turned to 120Gb xbox hard drive

things i will be testing before i start:
1-if the drives work and do not contain any i/o errors or disk read errors
2-i will create backups of the data (if not blank, but theyre both blank)
3-create backups of the firmware

things i will be doing to them:
rewriteing the hardrives firmwares to say that they are a diffrent brand and size
writeing the hddss security sectors into the firmware (so the xbox thinks its ligit)
re-partitioning the hard drive into 3 partitions each a certin size

once i have done all that i then test them in my xbox 360s
